To all upcoming models:

1. Never trust what you see or hear on the web. CHECK THEM OUT! USE A SERVICE there are many out there. I do not want to say where what and when but I have had NIGHTMARES from photogs I have met or they have found me on the web! I SAY TRUE NIGHTMARES AND CLOSE CALLS! Never be in fear take precautions and live by them!

2. Create a Support System (re family, favorite team to work with, agency, manager). Make sure some of your support system has time and ability to travel. If you have no support system hmm Create One!

3. Craft BEAUTIFUL images and have them critqued. Create these on local photogs thru local contacts. These should be FREE SHOOTS. Always, Always try to shoot local shoots that could be used by local businesses! Re local hair salon, weigh lifting gym, surf shop etc. If i listetd all the work that I have published you would become bored reading. The goal of your business is to be seen, published, etc.

4. MONEY: I will save you time and money here. First realize the size, weight, dimensions a agency is seeking. Achieve these thru physical fitness, diet, personal trainer if possible. Do Local free shoots while you train! This builds experience and comfort. Agencies want ladies who can hit the ground running!

Modeling is a Business! No Exceptions it is simple rule modeling is a billion dollar industry. If you want in then make a business plan No one will do it for you, you must write your own business plan. Get a outside organization, business, corporation, sponsor or other professional to guide you in this plan! Or you can wander aimlessly thru this industry and get lucky? A models business plan is quite unique. But it is a business plan none the less!

You think I did not mention spending money lets add it up before you go to a real photog!

A. Lettuce, Tomato, hamburger, Cheese at mcdonalds is .99. Go buy it less the meat at the grocery store it is much MORE! (thousands over years)

B. The entire health area of a store is expensive! (more thousands)

C. Skin Care WOW spendy. If you are young and reading this get on "Pro-Active" . Do this young to avoid future need for skin etching. Dermatolgists, makeup removers, ....(more thousands)

D. Clothing o my. If you are on low budget get clothes from local thrift shops. I can show you fashion images using thrift item you would not know where they came from! I personally was blessed with higher end clothes. We are also opening a Substantial studio and this wardrobe is a write off. My photogs on other hand wow they have done wonders from the thrift shop with many models! (more depending on budget much more!)

E. Time, Gas, fitness centers, it all COST COLD HARD CASH.(much more)

F. The sacrifices are much but the results are a tone fit body! No one can take your mental ability away at this point in your career! Your mind, Your body, Your rules!

5. Agency Time:

Option

A: Blindly submit to agencies. They recieve thousands of submissions a year. It is a tough process. You should of met some top photogs at this point who can piont you in correct direction at the right time. If you followed rule 1 then you can trust the photog.

B: Well personally I have reached the zenith of my physical abilities I want the best proof in the world! Book/Port. I will travel to the ends of the earth to achieve the images I want. I want images by the best photogs in the world. I want images from the most published, known, recognized, Sounds like I alot yes it is I who wants this... Not that it is needed but it is how my travel plans are currently set! It is how my life is directed and I will learn a whole new area of the industry with my plans. My plans far reach being a model!

C: Publicist! If you do not know, understand, recognize, with out thorough outside input do not do this route! It is normally used by the rich of the richest. The knowledgeable of the knowledgeable. (I am personally thinking of going this route) Then again we are already in with General Motors and other huge mutli national corporations!

6. DO not forget where you came from.. If a old photographer contacts your beautiful new port. Talk with them shoot with them.. Just make arrangements to secure that only the best of images will be used. If you are agency represented there are rules. Then again there is the original plan Do not forget where you came from. This does not mean sign a release. but do not forget!

7. Gossip, forget it move on.. keep gossip conversation behind closed doors with the closest of friends. Your reputation preceeds you if you are out running down folks you will get ran over. I do not care how famous you become, I dont care how popular you become. If you become a bitch then you are simply a bitch with looks and you will loose your position or gain a new one you were not seeking.

8. No room for smoking, drinking, fast food or bad eating habbits.

10. If a photog or professional contacts you thru any means the minute money is discussed let a professional deal with it! If the photog can not handle this move on...In my business plan money has no room in my shoots. It is delegated to the corporation if a photog wants paid he gets paid by corp.! Not me!

8. Escort Rules: a escort should bring you or pick you up from shoots. Some shoots like the Mtv or others I have been on the escort is often not only welcome to stay. But is encouraged to pitch a hand doing errands, carrying items or any other oddball the project cordinator needs. The larger the production the more of a hand they will take from any available hand! A escort should never, never, never be in a position to cause the photographer, videographer, mua, wardrobe artist, to share your attention! In most cases there are places for a escort to hang or places they can go! A escort is always welcome to look over a shoot location, walk you in and say hello to scope out the scenario.

11. If a photog on a Tf Or Paid shoot to them ever talks down to you it is a hard choice. Mine is 99% of the time regardless of his talent to move on. Re this is my dime. I have worked tremendously hard and made huge sacrifices to achieve my goals. These sacrifices are made at start with NO GUARRANTEES! The minute I am uncomfortable due to the photog being a ass i leave? Well your decision. Personally when on a well paid shoot by a corporation, I know for a fact, the person causing a problem on a shoot is removed. If you continue professional actions thru out your carreer you will be shot by who is at the shoot! Trust me when I say "It is corporate big wigs who choose the models". FOLLOW THE MONEY TRAIL! THE MONEY TRAIL LEADS TO YOUR END GOAL OF BEING NATIONALLYL RECOGNIZED!

10. Publicist! A great publicist or similiar can do wonders! We know this in our other industries. Trademarks and national logos have tricks, secrets and who you know not what you know mantalities. A simple phone call from right person overcomes many problems and creates many oppurtunites.

12. Fall back plan should be part of your original business plan. What will you do if you do not make it. Personally, I am getting my RN degree and do not believe I really will need it with my national software corp. Fall back paln to modeling, fall back plan to fall backplan. This is a hard reality out there! Be ready for it!

13. Do Not Loose Your Support System No Matter What! Your family is first in life! If you loose your support and get gobbled up in this industry. I will be seeing you on vanity fair hanging babies out windows. Your suppoort system needs to stay in place period.
